Terms

The terms that apply to your account, your pairing and any paid plan — including how subscriptions renew and how to cancel.

Last updated · applies to Dudububu on iOS and Android

This agreement

These terms are the agreement between you and Dudububu for the Dudububu app and this website. Using either means you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app — and if you have already paid, ask the store for a refund under the section below.

Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data and forms part of this agreement.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13, or older where your country requires it — 16 in much of the EEA. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.

You need an account, and you need to be honest in it. One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under yours, including what your paired partner can see.

Pairing, and unpairing

Both of you can see and delete things in your shared album. Think of it as a shelf in a shared flat, not a locked drawer.

The free plan and Premium

The free plan is free forever, with no card and no trial timer: the day counter, one widget, chat up to 30 messages a day, an album up to 2 GB, hugs, moods and 5 sticker packs. Bear Reels carries ads on the free plan.

Premium removes those limits and adds both widget sizes and themes, unlimited chat and sticker packs, live location and Ghost mode, HD reels, unlimited storage and no ads.

Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

This is the part worth reading twice. Premium is sold by the App Store and Google Play, not by us. Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase, at the local price the store shows you (Monthly $9.99, 6 months $49.99, Yearly $79.99, Lifetime $99.99 in USD).

Monthly — $9.99
Renews automatically every month at $9.99 until you cancel.
6 months — $49.99
Renews automatically every 6 months at $49.99 until you cancel.
Yearly — $79.99
Renews automatically every year at $79.99 until you cancel. Starts with a 7-day free trial; the first charge lands when the trial ends.
Lifetime — $99.99
A single payment. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel.

How renewal works. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before that period ends. The store charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends, at the plan's then-current price.

How to cancel. Cancel in your store account — Apple's subscription settings or Google Play subscriptions — or follow the steps on our support page. Deleting the app does not cancel anything, and we cannot cancel a store subscription on your behalf.

Cancelling stops the next charge. Premium keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for, and then both bears drop back to the free plan with every memory intact.

Free trials. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends and you are charged nothing. Otherwise it converts to a paid year automatically. One trial per person, and if you buy a plan while a trial is running, the unused part of the trial is forfeited — that is the store's rule, not ours.

Lifetime. A one-time purchase, tied to the account that made it, for as long as we run the service. It does not renew, it cannot be transferred to another person, and it survives unpairing and re-pairing.

Price changes. We may change prices. An increase never applies to a period you have already paid for, and the store will ask for your agreement before it takes effect on a renewal. If you do not agree, cancel and the subscription ends at the end of the current period.

Refunds

Because the stores take the money, they also handle refunds — we genuinely cannot issue one ourselves.

If a store turns you down and you think something has genuinely gone wrong on our side — a charge for a plan you never got, a feature that never worked — write to us anyway. We will make the case to the store with you.

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. By starting a subscription you are asking for immediate access, and once we have delivered it that right no longer applies. Your statutory rights where the service is faulty are untouched by anything in these terms.

Your content

Your photos, videos, messages and memories are yours. We claim no ownership of them and we never will.

You give us only the permission we need to run the app: to store your content, sync it between your devices, show it to the partner you paired with, back it up, and put it through the features you switched on. That permission ends when you delete the content or the account, apart from backups already made, which roll over on the schedule in the privacy policy.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload — including your partner appearing in it.

What you cannot do with it

If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services. We are an app for couples, not a safety service.

Changes to the service

We improve the app continuously, which sometimes means changing or removing a feature. If we remove something you are paying for, we will tell you in advance and, where it matters, offer a way out that leaves you no worse off.

Features labelled beta are exactly that. We would rather ship them early and say so than pretend they are finished.

Ending it

You can delete your account from the app's settings at any time. Export the album first if you want to keep it — after deletion we cannot get it back for you.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why unless the law stops us. If we close your account without cause while you are on a paid plan, we will refund the unused part of what you paid.

Disclaimers and liability

We work hard to keep the app running, but we provide it as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, that every message arrives instantly, or that a location pin is accurate to the metre. Do not rely on it for anything safety-critical.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights come first and this section does not reduce them.

Apple and Google

Your store also has terms, and a couple of them we are required to restate here:

Changes to these terms

We update these terms when the service changes. The date at the top always tells you when they last moved.

For material changes we give at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, cancel and delete your account, and we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Dudububu is established. That does not take away the protections that the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in gives you.

If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts where you live, and that is where we will bring any claim against you. We are not asking you to give up a jury trial, and we are not forcing you into arbitration or a class-action waiver.

Before any of that, write to hello@dudububu.space. Almost everything is faster to fix than to argue about.
